  • Rapid military action, 49 high-level targets killed on the first day
  • Excludes “no deployment” option, acts based on necessity
  • Disregards low approval ratings, claims to represent the “silent majority”

President Trump gave a strong signal during an interview on Monday, stating that the military operation against Iran, “Operation Epic Fury,” is progressing far ahead of expectations. Trump emphasized that to prevent Iran—led by a “madman”—from acquiring nuclear weapons, he does not rule out sending ground troops, and openly states he “doesn’t care about polls,” firmly believing he is doing the right thing.

Rapid military action, 49 high-level targets killed on the first day

Trump revealed to the media that the current military operation is “significantly ahead of schedule.” He pointed out that in the precision strikes launched on Saturday, U.S. forces successfully killed 49 Iranian military and political officials.

Initially, Trump expected the conflict might last about four weeks, but based on current results, he hinted that the timeline will be shortened. He said:

“This is moving very quickly. Our progress in eliminating leadership is far beyond what we planned. We thought it would take at least four weeks, but we accomplished it in one day.”

Excludes “no deployment” option, acts based on necessity

When discussing the sensitive topic of whether ground warfare will be involved, Trump displayed a tough stance. He clearly stated that there are “no concerns” about deploying ground troops, and he will not make pre-commitments like other leaders who say they will “never send troops.”

“I’m not like other presidents who always say ‘we will never deploy ground forces.’ I don’t say that. I say ‘they might not be needed,’ or ‘if necessary,’” Trump explained. He further elaborated that the trigger for this operation was intelligence indicating Iran is secretly resuming nuclear fuel enrichment at a new site. He believes allowing a mad regime to possess nuclear weapons would have more disastrous consequences than regional conflict.

Disregards low approval ratings, claims to represent the “silent majority”

Despite initial polls showing only 27% of Americans support the airstrikes, with 43% opposed, Trump is unconcerned. He insists he is doing the “right thing” and believes these issues should have been addressed long ago.

Trump refuted the low poll support, claiming there is a “silent majority” supporting him. He emphasized:

“This isn’t about polls. You can’t let a madman-led country like Iran have nuclear weapons. I think people are actually impressed with what’s happening now.”
