North Korean Hackers Steal $600M in April From Drift Protocol and Kelp DAO Attacks

According to TRM Labs, North Korean-linked hackers stole approximately $600 million in cryptocurrency in April from attacks on Drift Protocol and Kelp DAO, accounting for 76% of the month’s total losses. The report estimates that since 2017, hackers associated with North Korea have stolen over $6 billion from crypto protocols and projects. The share of losses caused by North Korean hackers in global crypto attacks has surged from less than 10% in 2020–2021 to 64% in 2025.
