Actually, human nature is very selfish.


I once heard my mom say that a student of Murakami was about to graduate, then got cancer, and the family didn't really provide treatment.
In the end, he went home, so thin he was just bones, probably too uncomfortable to sit in a chair, and as a result, the adults just held him down and he passed away.
My mom said the adults must have been angry—after all, the family worked hard to support him, and he died before even finding a job.
Hearing this, I felt really upset. Life is just mutual exploitation between beings.
