When I was in fifth or sixth grade, a girl in our class made a mistake. Her mother stormed into the classroom, grabbed her by the hair, and dragged her all the way home, hitting her as they walked.

Our classroom was right next to the street, and all of our classmates listened in silence as the girl’s screams and pleas gradually faded away.
Since then, this girl became shameless.
She turned into someone everyone disliked—I don’t know if I should say it like that, but she had a strong personality.
No matter who scolded her, she didn’t mind. Later, she was ostracized by the whole class.
I feel like her parents shattered her self-esteem.
If she still had any pride, she wouldn’t be able to live like that.
From a psychological perspective, this might also be a form of self-protection mechanism.
