U.S. military F-35A fighter jet makes an emergency return after being attacked over Iran, possibly the first time this aircraft model has been hit in combat

Gate News reports that on March 21, the U.S. “War Zone” website confirmed that a U.S. military F-35A fighter jet, operating over Iran, was attacked and had to return to base urgently, landing at an undisclosed U.S. military airport in the Middle East. A video released by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard shows that this stealth fighter was indeed hit. Foreign media suggest this may be the first time an F-35 has been shot down in a combat environment since its debut, setting a new world record in aerial combat for Iran.
