Gate News reports that on March 29, the Yemen Houthi armed forces announced the launch of multiple ballistic missiles toward southern Israel, officially entering the current conflict in the Middle East. Analysts point out that this move marks Yemen as a new front in the conflict, and the regional situation may further escalate; the involvement of the Yemen Houthi armed forces could become an important variable in the future development of the situation.

Yemen Houthi strategic military expert Abed stated: “It is foreseeable that this will have a significant impact on the situation, especially as Israel is already struggling to bear a new round of conflict, particularly after the Yemen Houthi armed forces officially joined the battle. We expect to face responses from Israel and even the United States; if the U.S. takes action, we will strike all related interest targets, including ships.”

Abed believes that with the opening of Yemen as a new front, the security risks of key waterways such as the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Bab el-Mandeb Strait are increasing, and the spillover effects on the regional situation are becoming increasingly evident.
