Gate News report: On March 30, the new pro–AI group “Innovation Council Action” supported by Trump adviser David Sacks plans to invest at least $100 million in this year’s U.S. midterm elections to back candidates, aiming to curb calls for stricter regulation of AI technology. The program’s spending is added on top of what other pro–AI organizations have already raised nearly $200 million, which will make AI policy a key issue in the fight for control of Congress. Last year, the political action committee Leading the Future, supported by OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman, venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz, and Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale, raised $125 million to support pro–AI candidates.
