Gate News message, April 27 — According to an official announcement, GateToken (GT) completed its Q1 2026 on-chain burn, with 2,557,729.381387 GT tokens transferred to the burn address, totaling over $20.68 million in value.
Since the launch of Gate Chain mainnet in 2019, GT has maintained a continuous burn mechanism. To date, a cumulative 187,377,156 GT tokens have been burned, representing a total burn value exceeding $1.382 billion (calculated at current prices). The token’s total supply has decreased by approximately 62.46% from its initial 300 million tokens.
As Gate Layer comes online alongside native applications such as Gate Perp DEX, Gate Fun, and Meme Go, GT’s usage frequency continues to rise as the sole gas token for Gate Layer. Simultaneously, Gate is advancing infrastructure and applications including Gate for AI Agent, GateClaw, Gate.AI, and GateRouter, driving increased on-chain transactions and interactions.
Gate will continue executing its long-term, stable GT burn mechanism to strengthen the positive feedback loop between the token’s economic model, actual usage demand, and ecosystem expansion.
