Gate News message, April 16 — ByteDance has denied reports of offering nearly 100 million yuan to recruit Guo Daya, a former DeepSeek researcher. In response, Li Liang, Vice President of Douyin, clarified that all Seed team technical staff at ByteDance receive the same compensation structure: cash, ByteDance options, and Doubao options, with all options fully vesting over a four-year period with no conditional restrictions.
Li stated that ByteDance has not recently hired any employees with annual compensation close to 100 million yuan. The future value of Seed employees’ ByteDance and Doubao options will fluctuate based on option pricing, and he did not rule out the possibility that some Seed technical staff could see cumulative returns reaching hundreds of millions of yuan after four years if the business performs well.
