AI Video Editing App Mirage Completes $75 Million Funding Round, General Catalyst Participates

Gate News reports that on March 24, AI video editing app Captions’ parent company Mirage completed a $75 million growth funding round, with funds coming from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund. Mirage has rebranded from the “Captions” brand to focus on an AI laboratory developing proprietary models, targeting the advertising and marketing industry, and will switch to a freemium model in January 2025. Data shows that over the past year, Captions has been downloaded more than 3.2 million times, with in-app revenue of approximately $28.4 million, and has generated over 200 million videos. The funds will be used for business growth and expanding into the Asian market.
