Metakey community, the Discord server of Metakey is currently compromised. Users are urged not to click on any links in the announcements, as they lead to PinkDrainer and could result in significant losses. The affected individuals are advised to revoke approvals immediately if they have clicked on the suspicious links.

The situation is expected to persist until the Metakey team regains control with the assistance of Discord support. The community contacts anyone with influence in Discord support to expedite the resolution process.

Regrettably, over $500,000 has already been taken from the Metakey server. Users are encouraged to revoke their approvals promptly to mitigate further damage. The incident adds to the challenges faced during what has already been a difficult week for the community.

Reduction in crypto Hacks

This comes just after a recent TRM Labs study, which reported that the Bitcoin sector experienced a significant reduction in hack volumes in 2023. The decrease, exceeding 50% compared to the previous year, is attributed to improved security protocols within the cryptocurrency industry.

Despite a consistent number of attacks, approximately 160, the overall amount stolen sharply declined to $1.7 billion from nearly $4 billion in 2022. Since the inception of cryptocurrencies in 2009, hackers have targeted billions of dollars’ worth of digital assets annually.
