Analyst: Iran's Oil Revenue Can Sustain Until August; Trump May Not Be Able to Wait

GateNews

Gate News message, April 24 — Kenneth Katzman, former Iran analyst at the Congressional Research Service in Washington, D.C., stated that despite U.S. naval blockades on Iranian ports halting new oil exports, Iran currently has 160 million to 170 million barrels of oil “floating at sea” across global waters, according to Al Jazeera.

Based on these inventories, Katzman indicated that Tehran could maintain revenue streams until August despite the American blockade. “I learned from an Iranian professor that based on these reserves, Tehran can have a sustained income stream until August, even with the U.S. naval blockade in place. There is still a considerable time from now until August,” Katzman said. “Can Trump wait until August? Probably not. So he may have to consider taking drastic escalatory actions to get the results he wants, or he will have to accept a deal that is not as good as he ideally wanted.”
