BlockBeats news, on February 20, according to the 13F filing data submitted by institutions to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) (SEC), large institutions such as pension or hedge funds doubled their holdings of SpotBTC ETF in the fourth quarter of 2024.
As of Q4 2024, institutional investors hold a total of $38.7 billion worth of SpotBTC ETF. This figure is more than three times that of Q3, with holdings reported at only $12.4 billion in Q3.
Wisconsin Investment Board increased its holdings of the BlackRock iShares BTC Trust IBIT stock to just over 6 million shares. Billionaire hedge fund investor Paul Tudor also doubled his stake in IBIT from 4,428,230 shares to 8,048,552 shares.
Bloomberg Intelligence senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said that IBIT currently has 1,100 institutional holders who have declared their holdings through 13F filings. Most newly launched ETFs typically have fewer than 10 institutional holders.
