The Arizona Senate Committee Approves Strategic BTC Reserve Bill Foresight News reported that lawmakers in Arizona, USA, proposed a bill allowing public funds to be invested in BTC and other digital assets. The state Senate Finance Committee approved the bill on January 27 by a vote of 5 to 2. The proposed legislation, initiated by Wendy Rogers and Jeff Weninger, is known as SB1025, the 'Arizona Strategic BTC Reserve Bill', allowing the state to invest up to 10% of public funds (including funds held by the state treasurer and retirement systems) in BTC and other cryptocurrencies. If the US Treasury Secretary establishes a strategic BTC reserve for government assets, the bill also includes provisions for securely isolating digital assets in potential federal strategic BTC reserve accounts.
