The conference organizer updated Wednesday that Trump would be the event’s main ‘headliner’. The Bitcoin 2024 conference is scheduled from July 25-27.
“Trump announced his support for the American Bitcoin industry in May 2024, advocating for financial freedom and the growth of the U.S. Bitcoin industry on the global stage,” the conference website noted.
The former US President will be taking up the stage for 30 minutes, starting 2.00pm CT on the last day of the conference – 27 July, a conference spokesperson told CoinDesk.
Some speakers said that they received a mail from organizers, informing rearrangement of slots to accommodate “a very special guest.”
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee will be joined by independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy at the conference.
Trump’s presence at one of the largest industry conferences, again denotes his strong foot to turn crypto enthusiasm into votes.
Bitcoin 2024 Conference to ‘Witness History’
The Bitcoin 2024 event titled “Witness History,” will feature premium speakers including Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood, MicroStrategy Chair Michael Saylor, Republican Vivek Ramaswamy, Senators Marsha Blackburn, Cynthia Lummis and Bill Hagerty, among others.
Trump’s appearance at the conference aligns with his latest crypto-focused election campaign. He started accepting Bitcoin donations in May, setting a stage for US crypto policy debate.
Additionally, the Republican party on Monday, has pledged to end the “crypto crackdown” by the current party in power. In a document, the pledge read that “Republicans will end Democrats’ unlawful and un-American crypto crackdown”. They have also vowed to oppose the creation of a Central Bank Digital Currency.”
He also stressed to protect the right to self-custody to America’s almost 50 million crypto holders, if elected president.
During a June fundraising event in San Francisco, Trump has promised to become a “crypto president,” affirming his crypto commitment.
