Bloomberg previously reported that Hong Kong is considering allowing exchange traded funds (ETFs) that invest directly in Ethereum to stake. Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission and issuance of virtual asset ETFs are discussing placing bets through licensed platforms, the sources said. It is reported that the relevant negotiations are still ongoing, and there is no clear timetable yet. However, Hong Kong Securities told a spokesman for the Futures Commission that it would not comment on the matter. Market participants note that it will be a significant milestone for it to become an interest-bearing asset after ETF Ethereum increase in collateral functionality. If approved, the Intrerest Rate yield is expected to further increase the demand for Hong Kong Spot Virtual Money ETF.
