That day, I stared at a row of coins flashing red across the screen, feeling half discouraged.

The computer repair technician leaned over and took a quick glance, casually saying:
“Kid, this isn’t a dip, your system is starting to ‘drop frames’.”
He used his hand, covered in thermal paste, to point at the screen and break down each part for me:
$KAT : Like a just-started host. The fan spins the loudest and looks the most intimidating, but once power supply becomes unstable (funds withdraw), it crashes faster than anyone.
$API3 : Background driver program. Usually you think it doesn’t consume resources, but once it responds with delay, your entire desktop (ecosystem) starts spinning in circles.
$APE : Game lobby. When crowded, it’s lively and noisy, but once no one is shouting on the public chat, it cools down faster than a graveyard.
$SOON: Loading map. Everyone is waiting for the progress bar to finish, eager to see what comes next. But once the progress bar stops, everyone just Alt+F4s out.
$CHIP: Unfinished system patch. When things go smoothly, no one praises it; when a blue screen (market crash) happens, it takes all the blame.
$KGEN: Task distribution program. When there are too many tasks, it can’t handle them; when no one is working, it turns into a pile of memory-consuming junk code.
$HUMA & $SPK: Character upgrade system and voice system. If one level breaks, it can never be trained back; if a microphone goes mute, all that’s left is silence on the screen.
$BLUR & $OFC: Operation interface and settlement module. When no one operates, the interface is just a blank page; if the settlement gets stuck, all your previous actions are useless.
He wiped his hands and looked into my confused eyes, smiling:
“You think the price is moving. Actually, it’s the hardware of this ‘profit system’ aging, unable to run your desires anymore.”
I looked up again at that row of red.
Suddenly I realized, this isn’t just a simple dip.
It’s the gears of the entire machine starting to misalign, an irreconcilable delay between code and human hearts.
When the system is no longer synchronized, all that’s left is waiting—
Waiting for a reboot, or for complete destruction.
