When I eat alone, I prefer to go to self-service restaurants, choosing whatever I want to eat. I could eat there every day. In 2017, there were very few self-service restaurants like this in Shanghai. The earliest one I visited was on the basement floor of Lingkong SOHO, near the Ctrip headquarters. At that time, Pan Shiyi hadn't sold this project yet, and he left shortly after selling it.

Back then, I told my friends that I was very optimistic about this model but had no money to invest. Now, these self-service models are everywhere in Shanghai, and even small cities have them, which shows they meet consumer demand.
