💥 Quantum cracking of 15-digit keys, 6.9M BTC at risk

Researchers successfully cracked 15-digit elliptic curve keys using public quantum hardware, winning the 1 BTC bounty from Project Eleven. The attack scale has expanded from 6 digits in 2025 to 15 digits, a 512-fold increase.

🔐 Is Bitcoin still safe?

Currently secure, but the window is narrowing.

From 15 digits to 256 digits still has a gap, but it has shifted from "physically impossible" to "an engineering problem":

· Google research: Cracking 256-bit ECC requires less than 500k qubits
· Caltech: Further reduced to about 10k qubits

---

💣 500k BTC exposed to risk

Approximately 10k BTC are stored in addresses with exposed public keys, with an exposure of over $500 billion. Another about 1 million Satoshi early coins are also at risk.

---

🛡️ Response strategies

· Short-term: Modern address types use hash wrapping, public keys are not directly exposed
· Long-term: Post-BIP-360 quantum migration proposals have been introduced
· Window period: About 3-5 years

Q-Day is not "if it will come," but "when it will come." The Bitcoin community must complete upgrades before quantum becomes practical — this is the most important infrastructure project in the next five years.$BTC #rsETH攻击事件后续进展
