Last night, I was "educated" again by on-chain data: what you're watching isn't the chain itself, but the perspective your connected node/RPC provides you. Nodes are busy, RPCs are rate-limited, indexers are still running, some people have already seen a transaction, while others are still waiting for a refresh... So sometimes it's not that the market is slow, but that your information is a half-step behind.
I now generally don't chase every candlestick, and only act at key points, partly because: emotional swings caused by data delays are the easiest to make people anxious. Recently, regulations have been tightening and loosening alternately, and there are many rumors of tax hikes. As deposit and withdrawal expectations change, everyone prefers to monitor "on-chain movements" for answers, but honestly, first confirm whether what you're seeing is truly real-time. Anyway, I’d rather be a bit slower and avoid the losses from "lagging information."
