Iranian sources say Iran has rejected a "ceasefire"

Reuters, on the 7th, quoted an Iranian source as saying that Iran refuses to reach “any temporary ceasefire” with the United States. The unnamed Iranian official said that Iran has set “preconditions” for reaching a “lasting peace” agreement with the U.S., including the enemy immediately ceasing attacks on Iran, promising not to attack Iran again, and compensating Iran for damages. He said that the peace agreement should allow Iran to charge fees for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. (Xinhua News Agency)
