Hong Kong's first batch of stablecoin licenses announced this afternoon!
Latest news, the Hong Kong stablecoin license that was postponed at the end of March is finally about to be released! According to the Daily Economic News, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority will announce the first batch of stablecoin licenses at 5:00 PM on April 10th, followed by license-holding stablecoin issuers meeting with the media. Hong Kong has finally become the first region in the world to issue a stablecoin license. It is reported that the process is now in the official public announcement preparation stage, with a total of 36 applications received by the HKMA. The first batch of licenses is planned to be issued for 2 to 3 applicants, with strict regulatory standards. The winners will not only take the lead in stablecoin business in Hong Kong but will also likely receive positive responses from the secondary stock trading market. Currently, companies and organizations participating in the license application include:
1. Traditional banks and note-issuing banks

Bank of China (Hong Kong) (
These institutions have mature reserve management and compliance systems and are considered strong competitors for the first batch of licenses.
2. Technology and Fintech companies
Ant Group (through Ant Financial Hong Kong)
