When looking at the EAA recommended rankings, you really see a split between focusing on ingredients and focusing on taste. When I first started weight training, I vaguely thought, "The goal is to efficiently intake essential amino acids," but after actually trying them, I realized that balancing ingredients and palatability is really difficult.
MyProtein's Impact EAA has an essential amino acid content of 79.6%, which looks perfect just by the ingredients. However, it has a bitter aftertaste, so if you plan to drink it every day, it’s a bit questionable. On the other hand, the kiwi-flavored one can be enjoyed like juice, but its essential amino acid content drops to 65.7%. That difference is pretty significant.
If you're prioritizing cost performance, then Different's F&W EAA is a good choice. It costs about 55 yen per serving, and the amino acid content is 83%. But, of course, taste evaluations are divided. I realized that the products ranking high in the EAA recommended list all involve some compromise—either on ingredients or taste. It seems you can only choose based on which you prioritize more.
If you're using the EAA recommended ranking as a reference, I think the best approach is to decide your priorities first. If you're serious about building your body, prioritize ingredients; if ease of continuation matters more, then choose based on taste. Since it’s something you drink every day, making a choice you won’t regret is really important.
