Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 11 — According to Cointelegraph, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in India arrested Darwin Labs co-founder and CTO Ayush Varshney this week at Mumbai Airport as he was attempting to leave the country.

Darwin Labs is accused of providing core technological infrastructure for the GainBitcoin scam platform, including investor platforms, Bitcoin payment gateways, and wallet systems. The case involves approximately 8,000 investors with an estimated loss of about 660.6 billion rupees (around $7.9 billion), making it one of the largest cryptocurrency fraud cases in India. The mastermind of the case, Amit Bhardwaj, passed away in 2022 while on bail.

Earlier reports indicated that Indian authorities raided over 60 locations across the country investigating the GainBitcoin crypto scam, involving approximately $75.8 million.
