Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, March 9 (Reporter Gu Yiping) — The latest data released by the National Food and Material Reserve Bureau shows that, to date, various grain trading entities across the country have purchased over 300 million tons of autumn grains, a relatively high level in recent years; autumn grain market prices are stable with slight increases, and the characteristics of high-quality and premium prices are becoming more prominent.

Currently, the purchase of mid-to-late rice has basically concluded nationwide. The procurement of corn and soybeans in Northeast and North China continues to advance, with the peak autumn grain purchasing season largely over. By variety, the purchase of mid-to-late rice is 103 million tons, corn is 189 million tons, and soybeans are 12 million tons. In Heilongjiang, Henan, and Hunan provinces, the minimum purchase prices for mid-to-late rice totaled 4.18 million tons, a decrease of 2.92 million tons year-on-year. Autumn grain procurement is steady and orderly, with overall smooth circulation.

Luo Shouquan, Director of the Grain Reserves Department of the National Food and Material Reserve Bureau, stated that after the Spring Festival, the autumn grain procurement market has continued its active trend from earlier periods. Various entities such as grain trading, processing, and reserve enterprises are actively entering the market to purchase. The prices of main varieties are stable with slight increases, especially for high-quality rice, corn, and high-protein soybeans, which have strong demand and high prices.

Next, the National Food and Material Reserve Bureau will adhere to the coordinated linkage of production, purchase, storage, and sales, focusing on both grain procurement and inventory sales, promoting the improvement of varieties and quality, and maintaining grain prices at reasonable levels.
