ChainCatcher reports that, according to official IoTeX sources, the IoTeX mainnet resumed full operation on February 24 at 06:06 (UTC). Previously, the IoTeX team and node representatives deployed a security upgrade to Mainnet v2.3.4, permanently freezing approximately 45 million IOTX from 29 attacker wallets.

Based on on-chain forensic analysis, although the attacker minted 410 million CIOTX, 99.5% of the assets have been frozen or locked. The actual economic loss is about $4.4 million, and the attacker has converted these assets into 66.78 BTC, currently stored in four Bitcoin addresses.

The IoTeX Foundation commits to providing 100% compensation from the foundation’s treasury to all affected users and has submitted an official report to U.S. law enforcement agencies. To prevent similar incidents in the future, IoTeX is implementing multiple security upgrades, including transitioning to decentralized bridge governance, multi-signature control, and on-chain circuit breakers.
