A-shares close: On the first trading day of the Year of the Horse, the Shanghai Composite Index rose by 0.87% with increased volume, and over 100 stocks in the entire market hit the daily limit up.

The market opened high and fluctuated throughout the day, with all three major indices rising collectively. Oil and gas stocks remained strong all day, with stocks like Tongyuan Petroleum and Zhongman Petroleum hitting the daily limit. The precious metals sector strengthened, with stocks such as Baiyin Nonferrous and Sichuan Gold hitting the limit. The fiberglass concept stocks surged, with International Refractory Materials and China Giant Stone hitting the limit. Chemical stocks performed actively, with Liu Guo Chemical and Yuntianhua hitting the limit. Most stocks rose while few fell; over 4,000 stocks in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing markets gained. Today’s total transaction volume was 2.22 trillion yuan. By the close, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.87%, the Shenzhen Component Index increased 1.36%, and the ChiNext Index gained 0.99%.
