According to CCTV News on February 25, a Pakistani military source stated on February 24 that Pakistan and Afghan forces exchanged fire at multiple points along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border during the night, and the fighting is ongoing. Both sides used heavy weapons, and no reports of casualties have been received so far.

Earlier on February 24, a spokesperson for the Pakistani Prime Minister confirmed on social media that Pakistan and Afghanistan briefly exchanged fire in the Dorham and Tirah areas along the border in the afternoon.

Afghan Defense Ministry Deputy Spokesperson Siddiqulla Nusratt said on the 24th that the conflict was caused by Pakistani troops opening fire on Afghan personnel conducting routine patrols.

According to previous reports from CCTV News, a Pakistani military source stated on the 22nd that an airstrike in the border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan on the night of the 21st resulted in the deaths of over 80 terrorists.

On the 22nd, the Afghan Defense Ministry issued a statement saying that Pakistan had again violated Afghan territory, launching airstrikes on several civilian areas in Nangarhar and Paktika provinces. The attacks caused injuries and deaths among dozens of civilians, including women and children.

The Afghan Defense Ministry strongly condemned Pakistan’s blatant violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty, considering it a serious breach of international law and principles of good neighborliness.

The Afghan Defense Ministry warned that it would respond appropriately and thoughtfully at the right time.

In the early hours of the 22nd, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a statement on social media saying that the Pakistani military launched airstrikes targeting seven terrorist camps and hideouts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border with precision.

On February 21, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a statement that several recent suicide bombings had occurred within Pakistan, and Pakistan has obtained conclusive evidence that these attacks were carried out by the “Pakistani Taliban” under the direction and control of its leadership in Afghanistan.

The statement said that the “Pakistani Taliban” and its affiliated organizations, as well as the “Islamic State Khorasan Branch,” also claimed responsibility for the attacks.

The statement further noted that Pakistan had repeatedly urged the interim Afghan government to take verifiable measures to prevent terrorist organizations from using Afghan territory to attack Pakistan, but no substantial action was taken. Pakistan stated that as a retaliatory measure, airstrikes have been launched against seven camps and hideouts belonging to the “Pakistani Taliban,” its affiliates, and the “Islamic State Khorasan Branch” along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Pakistan reiterated its call for the Afghan interim government to fulfill its obligations, prohibit terrorists from using its territory, and urged the international community to pressure it to comply with the commitments of the Doha Agreement.
