South Korean investigators apply for an arrest warrant for a suspect in the "drone entry into North Korea" incident

On the 20th, South Korea’s joint special investigation team for military and police announced that they have applied for an arrest warrant in court for Wu, a 30-something graduate student suspected of flying a drone into North Korea. The National Investigation Department of the Korea Police Agency reported that on the 19th, they applied for an arrest warrant for Wu, a civilian suspect with a high risk of destroying evidence, and formally requested court approval on the 20th. Korean police believe that Wu flew drones into North Korea four times to test their performance, aiming to gain economic benefits through drone-related activities. Police stated that this behavior provoked North Korea to issue a condemnation statement, causing tensions between South Korea and North Korea and putting Korean citizens at risk. At the same time, this action has also forced South Korea to change its defensive posture, damaging Korea’s military interests. (CCTV News)
