Chinese Disarmament Ambassador: The U.S. accusations of China conducting nuclear explosion tests are baseless and lack factual evidence

Chinese Disarmament Ambassador Shen Jian delivered a speech at the high-level plenary session of the Geneva Disarmament Conference on the 23rd, outlining China’s position on current international security and arms control hotspots. Shen Jian stated that in the face of complex and severe international security situations, China upholds the principles of justice, cooperation, balance, and effectiveness in arms control, committed to enhancing international security cooperation and improving global security governance. Nuclear arms control is an important guarantee for maintaining global strategic stability. The international community should adhere to a fair, reasonable, rational, and pragmatic approach to nuclear disarmament, resolve nuclear non-proliferation issues through political and diplomatic means, abide by international law, and revitalize multilateral arms control and disarmament mechanisms. Shen Jian emphasized that China firmly supports the purposes and objectives of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
