Tianyuan Semiconductor rises nearly 8% during the trading session, reaching a strategic cooperation with EYEQ Lab, focusing on silicon carbide epitaxial wafer supply and applications
Sky Semiconductor (02658) rose nearly 8% intraday. As of the latest report, it increased by 5.99%, trading at HKD 52.4, with a turnover of HKD 12.6884 million.
In recent news, Sky Semiconductor announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Korea’s leading third-generation semiconductor company EYEQ Lab Inc. According to reports, Sky Semiconductor will provide EYEQ Lab with a full range of high-quality SiC epitaxial wafers, covering all specifications from 6 to 8 inches, with voltage ranges from 650V to 20,000V. These can be widely adapted for various power electronic devices, including unipolar and bipolar types, fully meeting EYEQ Lab’s product research, development, and mass production needs in different application scenarios. Meanwhile, under the same terms and conditions, EYEQ Lab will prioritize purchasing silicon carbide epitaxial wafers from Sky Semiconductor, strengthening the foundation of their cooperation.
Public information shows that silicon carbide (SiC), as a third-generation semiconductor material, is widely used in new energy vehicles, power supplies, rail transit, and other fields due to its high-temperature resistance, high voltage tolerance, and high-frequency characteristics. It is a core raw material for power semiconductor devices. According to Frost & Sullivan, in 2024, the company will hold a 6.7% share of revenue and a 7.8% share of sales in the global self-made silicon carbide epitaxial wafer market, ranking third in China. In the Chinese market, in 2024, it will account for 30.6% of revenue and 32.5% of sales, making it the largest self-made silicon carbide epitaxial wafer manufacturer in China.
