Quanzhou Customs data shows that last year, Quanzhou’s exports of household paper and sanitary products reached 10.46 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%. The export value hit a record high for the same period, accounting for 17% of the total exports of similar products nationwide, maintaining the top position among prefecture-level cities nationwide.
Data indicates that Quanzhou’s household paper and sanitary products are popular in over 190 countries and regions worldwide. Among them, ASEAN, Latin America, and Russia are the main trading partners, with exports of 3.94 billion yuan, 1.88 billion yuan, and 1.44 billion yuan respectively, representing 37.7%, 18%, and 13.8% of the total.
Private enterprises play a “main force” role, with total exports of household paper and sanitary products reaching 8.33 billion yuan, a 2.5% increase, accounting for 79.6% of Quanzhou’s total exports of these products during the same period.
Wu Huanan, General Manager of International Supply Chain at Hengan Group, said, “Last year, our company continued to expand its global market layout, increased investment in technological R&D, and continuously enhanced international competitiveness. Our own brand sanitary and paper products exported over 100 million yuan, with growth of over 20%. Currently, some customer orders are scheduled through late July.”
To support industry development, Quanzhou Customs has deeply promoted special actions to facilitate cross-border trade, implementing reforms such as “pre-declaration” and “direct port loading” to improve customs clearance efficiency; guiding enterprises to make good use of policies like RCEP and AEO certification, supporting digital transformation, and helping “Quanzhou-made” household paper and sanitary products sell well overseas.
It is reported that in Quanzhou, industry clusters represented by companies such as Hengan Group, Tianjiao Maternity and Baby, Meijia Shuang, Jiahua, and Ying Shubao have taken shape and developed into an important manufacturing base for export of household paper and sanitary products in China.
