Shenzhen: Promote urban organic renewal tailored to local conditions and accelerate the development of safe, comfortable, green, and smart "good houses"

On February 5th, Shenzhen held a site promotion meeting for urban renewal work. The meeting emphasized the need to deeply practice the concept of people-centered cities, earnestly implement the series of policies and regulations on urban renewal issued by the state, province, and city, and promote organic urban renewal according to local conditions. It called for vigorous efforts to optimize urban structure, transform driving forces, improve quality, pursue green transformation, preserve cultural heritage, and enhance governance efficiency.

The city should focus on clear goals and tasks, strengthen overall coordination across the entire city as a unified effort, utilize the city leadership’s service mechanism, demonstrate strong work style, adopt effective measures, ensure resource and element support, and promptly resolve bottlenecks and obstacles in project advancement. It also emphasized strengthening quality and safety supervision, accelerating the construction of safe, comfortable, green, and smart “good houses,” and creating high-quality production, living, and ecological spaces.

Efforts should be made to gather all parties’ strength, accelerate the establishment of a sustainable urban renewal model guided by the government, operated by the market, and participated in by the public. The city should deepen community engagement, expand diversified financing channels, strengthen credit support for urban renewal projects, accelerate the development of new real estate models, and strive to create a new situation in urban renewal work.
