Supreme People’s Court Holds Press Conference on “Judicial Service and Guarantee of High-Quality Economic and Social Development” in Civil and Commercial Trials on February 24

In 2025, the nationwide courts accepted 44,936 bankruptcy review cases, an increase of 7.31% year-on-year; 36,900 cases of bankruptcy liquidation, reorganization, and settlement, up 18.00%; and concluded 31,900 cases, a rise of 5.07%. Through bankruptcy trials, approximately 4 trillion yuan of debt was resolved, 1.16 trillion yuan of existing assets were revitalized, and over 120,000 jobs were stabilized.

In recent years, new types of securities disputes have continuously emerged. In 2025, courts nationwide resolved 25,000 cases involving securities, futures, funds, and other capital market issues, a 53.6% increase year-on-year. Most cases involve listed companies, controlling shareholders or actual controllers, securities firms, accounting firms, and other intermediary service organizations as defendants.

In 2025, disputes over false statements in securities accounted for as much as 96.3% of securities disputes, indicating that false statements such as financial fraud by listed companies remain stubborn problems in the capital market and must be strictly punished according to law.
