The U.S. Department of the Treasury has imposed sanctions on Russia's "Operation Zero" and its founder Sergey Sergeyevich Zelenyuk, accusing them of using millions of dollars in cryptocurrency to buy and resell stolen American cyber tools. These tools were originally stolen by an Australian citizen and were intended solely for use by the U.S. government. This is the first sanctions under the "Protect American Intellectual Property Act," which will prohibit all U.S. companies from conducting business with the sanctioned parties.
