According to Iran’s Mehr News Agency on the 24th, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ravanchi stated that Iran is prepared to reach an agreement with the U.S. as soon as possible.
The report said that Ravanchi made this statement during an interview on the same day on U.S. National Public Radio. He said Iran would negotiate in good faith and sincerity, hoping to receive a response from the U.S., “If all parties have political will, I believe an agreement can be reached quickly.”
When asked about the plan Iran intends to submit to the U.S. in the next round of negotiations, Ravanchi emphasized that the “only issue” in negotiations is the nuclear question.
Omani Foreign Minister Badr confirmed on the 22nd that a new round of talks between the U.S. and Iran is scheduled to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on the 26th. The second round of indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran took place in Geneva on the 17th. After the negotiations, U.S. and Iranian officials both stated that although disagreements remain, progress was made compared to the previous round, and both sides agreed to continue discussions. Meanwhile, the U.S. has recently massed troops in the Middle East. President Trump recently admitted that he is considering a “limited military strike” on Iran.
