Blizzard sweeps through the Northeastern United States, leaving nearly 400,000 users without power.

On February 23rd local time, the number of power outage customers in the northeastern United States continued to rise. According to data from the power tracking website Poweroutages.us, as of 6:30 a.m. Eastern Time, nearly 400,000 users were affected by outages. Heavy winds combined with wet, heavy snow caused widespread power outages in the region. Additionally, New York City experienced its largest snowfall in over five years. By 7 a.m. Eastern Time, snowfall at Central Park exceeded 15 inches (about 38.1 centimeters), the largest single snowstorm recorded by the official weather station in New York City in over five years.
