A recent study published in The Lancet Global Health, a British medical journal, shows that during the first 15 months of Israel’s military operations in Gaza, over 75,000 Palestinians died from violence, a figure significantly higher than the more than 49,000 reported by Gaza’s health authorities at the time. The study, published on the 18th, indicates that from the outbreak of a new round of Israeli-Palestinian conflict in October 2023 to early January 2025, approximately 75,200 people in Gaza died from violent clashes, accounting for 3.4% of Gaza’s total population. Women, children, and the elderly made up about 56.2% of the total deaths, which roughly aligns with data released by Gaza’s health authorities. During this period, about 16,300 people also died from diseases, accidents, and other causes unrelated to the war. (CCTV News)
