This agreement includes a life-of-resource extension for PTFI’s IUPK, a commitment to increased community support and exploration spending in Papua, and a focus on domestic downstreaming of refined metals. Additionally, Freeport-McMoRan will transfer a 12% share interest in PTFI to government interests in 2041 at no cost.
