As of the time of writing, New China Insurance (01336) fell 6.03% to HKD 56.85; China Life Insurance (02628) dropped 5.61% to HKD 32.66; China Pacific Insurance (02601) decreased 4.12% to HKD 36.8; China Property & Casualty Insurance (02328) declined 1.71% to HKD 16.64.

Dongwu Securities released a research report stating that the net profit attributable to the parent company for listed insurance companies in Q4 is expected to face slight pressure, mainly due to a phased correction in growth sectors. Since 2025, insurance companies generally have a high proportion of equity holdings. In Q4 2025, Wind All A Index, ChiNext Index, and STAR 50 Index increased by 1.0%, decreased by 1.1%, and decreased by 10.1%, respectively. Because insurance funds mainly hold growth-style positions through FVTPL accounts, falling stock prices will directly impact current profits and losses. However, since 2026, growth style has continued to strengthen, and the previously short-term unrealized losses are expected to have significantly improved.

Shenwan Hongyuan stated that the capital market experienced phased fluctuations in Q4 2025, coupled with some insurance companies significantly increasing their equity allocation in the secondary market in the second half of 2025. The profit performance of listed insurance companies in Q4 may face temporary pressure. The bank expects that in 2025, the net profit attributable to the parent company of A-share listed insurance companies will increase by 22.7% year-on-year to 426.4 billion yuan, with the growth rate decreasing by 10.9 percentage points compared to the first three quarters of 2025.
