Living in a small town in Northeast China.

Let me share some interesting stories about small-town life.
Over a decade ago, guns, knives, and cannons were everywhere.
Even villages with good resources would have fights to choose their village head.
The most common news was like this:
Someone was killed over a land dispute.
Zhang San and Li Si fought and stabbed someone on the spot.
Li Si crippled Wang Wu, breaking both his legs.
Back then, the small town was chaotic but had a certain order—like a martial world.
Since the crackdown on crime and evil by the government, most of the people I knew or was familiar with in the underworld have been imprisoned.
The entire county has become peaceful, but the other kind of underworld order remains unchanged.
At this point, the common topics at the drinking table have shifted to:
"Zhang San’s kid is too tough; he’s been inside for a year, 300 days on the small cell, suffering a lot."
"Li Si was messed up in detention and needs two people to carry him out."
If this had happened ten years ago, I would have broken his legs myself (big brother’s helplessness).
The crackdown on crime and evil is actually a very clear decision by the state.
Years ago, the social atmosphere led many people astray.
Now, the social atmosphere is changing, and peace is actually the basic foundation that ordinary people like you and me need.
