Portland General Electric to acquire renewable assets from PacifiCorp

Portland General Electric (PGE) is set to acquire select generation, transmission, and electric utility operations from PacifiCorp in Washington state for $1.9 billion, including various renewable energy assets. The acquisition involves the construction of two new solar and battery hybrid projects totaling 615 MW and the purchase of existing wind facilities. This move will significantly expand PGE’s renewable energy portfolio and transmission infrastructure, with regulatory approval expected within 12 months.
