Reverse New Year goes viral; reverse Spring Festival travel tickets can save an average of 60%

As the Spring Festival approaches, the trend of “reverse New Year travel” is beginning to rise. Some elderly people are traveling to the cities where their children work, while some children are going to the cities where their parents work, to reunite for the holiday. Data from online travel platforms shows that since February, the search volume for flights to cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen from multiple small and medium airports around the Spring Festival has increased nearly threefold compared to last year. Tickets for reverse Spring Festival travel are also cheaper, with an average savings of about 60%. Flight booking data from online travel platforms indicates that since the start of the Spring Festival travel period, the passenger flow of “reverse New Year travel” into Shenzhen has increased by nearly 20% year-on-year.
