In order to believe in Islam, you must first believe that Christianity and the biblical texts were wrong and corrupted.

So you should start by investigating and comparing Islam to Christianity.
Here is a simple comparison:
Christianity is the fulfillment of the Jewish covenant. It is supported by over 25,000 manuscripts, 1,500 years of history, 40 authors who never contradicted each other, more than 2,000 fulfilled prophecies, documented miracles, and external non-biblical sources confirming Jesus was a real person.
You would have to reject this vast, cohesive body of work that accurately predicted future events, miracles, and in fact that even Islam acknowledges Jesus Christ Yeshua.
Then after you reject this you have to choose to accept a text written by one man 600+ years after Christianity was established that has no prophecies and the very author of which, again, said that you should respect Jesus.
Well if you follow his logic and respect Jesus then you know Jesus said He Himself was God. So then the only author in Islam tells you that you should respect a liar or just pointed you to the true God (which was already confirmed by the historical texts of Christianity and the gospels).
And the God that is Jesus is love. This is not the god of Islam.
