Wisdomtree collaborates with BNY Mellon to advance on-chain banking through tokenization of assets.
1. On October 28, Wisdomtree announced the selection of BNY Mellon as the core Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) provider for its digital asset platform Wisdomtree Prime, making Wisdomtree the first retail digital asset BaaS client of BNY.
2. This cooperation allows crypto-native users to stay on-chain and seamlessly access Wisdomtree's tokenized real assets (such as digital funds, on-chain gold), while leveraging BNY's banking functions to facilitate the funding on and off traditional banking systems with blockchain applications.
3. The cooperation between both parties has also strengthened Wisdomtree's capabilities, including providing tokenization funds, stablecoin conversions, and on-chain digital tool transfers; previously, BNY had provided custody and other services for some of Wisdomtree's funds and acted as the reserve custodian for its USDW stablecoin. This cooperation further reflects the confidence of regulatory agencies in the feasibility of tokenized assets.
