OpenAI Releases GDPval to Evaluate AI Economic Value Performance PANews September 26 News, OpenAI has launched a new evaluation tool GDPval, focusing on measuring AI's performance in real-world economic value tasks. GDPval covers 44 occupations across the nine industries that contribute the most to the U.S. GDP, with tasks designed by industry experts averaging 14 years of experience. The evaluation results show that the Claude Opus 4.1 model has nearly half of its outputs comparable to or better than expert levels. OpenAI stated that it will continue to expand the scope and details of the GDPval evaluation in the future.
