The kinder a person is, the more ruthless they become in the end. Because they have done everything they should do, endured everything they should endure, and have been open-hearted along the way, reaching the limits of kindness and righteousness, without any regrets. In the end, they are met with demands for more and escalating pressures. They owe nothing to anyone, so there is nothing to regret, having once treated others with full sincerity. Now they can be heartlessly justified! When a person lives to the extreme, they will ultimately understand that the deepest compassion is allowing oneself to no longer be compassionate.
