xAI Grok 4.20 officially launched, featuring four reasoning modes and setting a new record for the hallucination-free rate test

Gate News reports that on March 19, xAI’s Grok 4.20 officially ended its beta testing and was launched. Grok 4.20 introduces four reasoning modes: Auto, Fast, Expert, and Heavy. Auto mode automatically chooses between Fast and Expert; Fast mode focuses on quick responses; Expert mode performs in-depth thinking. xAI founder Elon Musk posted on X to gather user impressions of Grok 4.20 and stated, “Major upgrades are still being pushed weekly.”

In Artificial Analysis’s hallucination rate test, the Beta version of Grok 4.20 achieved a 78% success rate, setting a new record for the tested model, but its overall intelligence score was 48, trailing behind Gemini 3.1 Pro and GPT-5.4, which scored 57. Regarding API pricing, input costs $2, output costs $6 per million tokens, and it supports 2 million tokens for extended context.
