A major whale shorted on-chain crude oil yesterday at an average price of $114, and the account funds have doubled to $1.18 million.

Gate News reports that on March 10, WTI crude oil (CL) on Hyperliquid dropped over 25% in 24 hours, currently trading at $85.7, down 26.2% from yesterday’s high of $116. The whale address starting with 0x434f continued building short positions between $112 and $116 yesterday at 10:49, completing a 3x leveraged short position at an average price of $114 with an initial position size of $1.83 million. As oil prices declined, the address kept rolling over and adding to the position, increasing account funds from $470,000 to $1.18 million, doubling the principal. Currently, it holds a 3x leveraged short position in CL with a position size of about $1.72 million, a floating profit of $350,000 (33%), with an average entry price now at $103.9, and has not significantly reduced the position yet.
