Mediterranean Shipping Company has implemented an emergency fuel surcharge starting March 16th, at $60 per standard container.

Gate News reports that on March 7, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) announced an emergency fuel surcharge on all shipments from the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions to the Indian subcontinent, Red Sea, and East Africa. Starting March 16 until further notice, the emergency fuel surcharge for shipments on the Mediterranean and Black Sea to East Africa routes will be adjusted to $60 per standard container and $90 per reefer container.
